Official Elaine Box PhotoThe Bra Recyclers, LLC, is a for profit clothing recycling company, founded by Elaine Birks-Mitchell and Johnny Mitchell, Jr. It was a chance to fulfull a community gap for a simple lingerie staple, a bra in shelters and transitional programs. The Bra Recyclers has built is culture and operations around its 5 B.R.A.V.O Principles:

  1. Beliefs
    1. We believe that the more you give the more you receive. Our success is not just driven by revenue, but by the impact we make in the lives of families in our communities.
  2. Recycling
    1. We advance environmental stewardship by incorporating recycling on purpose, in our business and personal lives.
  3. Advocacy
    1. We are advocates for increasing awareness about bra recycling and its impact on families in communities around the world.
  4. Voice
    1. We believe that everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard. We want to share with the stories and experiences of those who are facing foreseen and unforseen challenges in their lives (e.g., domestic violence, human trafficking, breast cancer, natural disasters).
  5. Opportunity
    1. We want to create opportunities for individuals and companies to reshape lives of women and girls by recycling bras and not throwing them away (textile recycling facts). This simple act can have a lasting impact on the lives of women and girls around the world.

 What We Accept:

  1. New and Gently Used Bras Including Sports Bra (this could include overstock, returned items, slightly flawed from manufactuers and reailers)
  2. Post Surgery Breast Cancer Supplies and Accessories (Mastectomy Bras, Prosthesis, Camisoles, Sleeves, etc). We work with Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation, a Phoenix-based non-profit organization to provide these items to uninsured women.
  3. New Panties only

The Bra Recyclers is not a 501c3 organization. We are a for-profit clothing recycling company that donates bras and other lingerie items to non-profit organizations.
